Travel insurance is a vital aspect to booking a tour, giving you protection against unforeseen circumstances that could otherwise spoil your holiday. It is a condition of booking with Saddle Skedaddle that you have adequate valid travel insurance. It is your responsibility to arrange appropriate travel insurance and ensure you have read and understood the full terms and conditions of your travel insurance policy to ensure that you are covered for all activities you intend to undertake whilst on the trip, including all optional activities.
Medical Cover
Your Insurance Policy must fully cover you for medical expenses and emergency repatriation to your home country.
During the COVID-19 pandemic there are a few extra elements to consider when selecting the right policy for you.
Cancellation cover
Does your policy cover you if you need to cancel your holiday due to you displaying COVID-19 symptoms or if you test positive for the virus? It is also worth considering if you will be covered if you need to cancel your trip for other COVID related reasons, such as if you are asked to self-isolate.
Curtailment
Does your policy cover if you need to cut your trip short, or you are refused entry to your destination, and return home due to COVID-19. You might also want to be confident in the level of cover if you are unable to stick to your normal travel arrangements, for example if you are asked to self-isolate for a period of time in your destination.
Suitability for all activities
You should check your chosen policy to ensure it covers all of the activities which may be included in your trip. If your trip takes place at altitude you should check that these activities, such as cycling or trekking are still covered as some policies have an altitude ceiling for their cover. If you need to check any details of the activities on your trip just give us a call.
